VolT is conceived to expose and alert volume volatility.

Using 21-candle moving average volume values compared to the current candle volume, you can graphically see the volume as it comes in - as a percentage of the historic 1X volume moving average.

Getting close to 2X or 5X of the 21-candle SMA? Just glance at the transparent plots behind the volume bars - or the actual percentage value in yellow.

Never wonder again how much volume that bar is compared to previous volume - now you know. Set alerts based on the volume crossing your chosen volume SMA. You'll never be surprised that the hedgies loaded up and left you behind, because you'll be right there loading up with them. (Let me know if you need help setting the alerts...)

- cleaner more efficient code
- more flexible user inputs, no code changes needed to customize the indicator
- added code for single ticker and watchlist alerts *

In TradingView Desktop:
To add VolT alerts to a watchlist, add the VolT indicator to any chart.
- Then click the Watchlists dropdown and select the list you want to apply the alerts to.
- Click the dropdown again, then click "Add alert on the list".
- Under Condition, choose VolT, then choose which MA you want to alert.
- Choose the interval you want to scan, I like 1m, but you find a higher tijeframe is more manageable.
- Choose the Trigger, usually Once Per Bar Close.
- In the next tab, create the Message you want to receive. Use Placeholders to create a detailed message. I will drop the message with placeholders that I sue in the comments below.
- Finally, choose how to be notified. I prefer Notify in App which floats a box at the top of my desktop. You can also use Play Sound and choose from about 50 different alarms.

* Watchlist alerts require a Premium TradingView subscription, and are by far the best way to alert VolT over 25, 50, 100 or more tickers.
Without a Premium sub, you can only apply VolT alerts to single tickers.

A Plea to TradingView:
Please consider changing the Essential subscription to allow at least 1 watchlist alert with the Essential subscription. This would help a lot of developing traders to become more proficient by applying any of the hundreds of excellent alert indicators to any watchlist. You will make more in subs in the long run!
