Sector & Industry
The FactSet Industries and Economic Sectors model is used to classify companies into sectors and industries. This is a proprietary model that employs a hierarchical structure, where companies are grouped based on the business that generates the majority of their revenue. This approach allows for a more accurate classification of diversified companies.
Sectors in FactSet Industries and Economic Sectors are organized into several general economic categories:
- Durables (long-term use goods)
 - Non-durables (short-term use goods)
 - Services
 - Infrastructure
