POCs and VAHs VALs - All and Non-BrokenThe "POC and VAH VAL - All and Non-Broken"
POC = Points of Control
VAH = Value Area High
VAL = Value Area Low
This indicator aims to show you on the 5 minute time frame all POCs and VAHs/VALs and Non-Broken POCs and VAHs/VALs.
(Non-Broken are POCS and VAHs/VALS where price action has not since crossed its path)
In the screen image above I have used VPVR to back test on BYBIT:BTCUSDT.
The POCs and VAHs/VALs for each day can be seen.
Also there is an option to see non-broken POCS and VAHs/VALs within the settings.
All display options are selectable within the settings.
The indicator is not as precise as using the VPVR but is a lot quicker and gives you a quick snapshot to assist with your technical analysis.
In the screen shot above are some examples highlighted with yellow circles (resistance at POC and VAHs/VALs).
Thanks goes to:
ahancock for use of his code.
Bjorn Mistiaen on StackOverFlow for his assistance.
Disclaimer:
Indicator has been coded to only show on 5 min time frame (after back testing seemed most accurate).
Only back tested on BYBIT:BTCUST.
There are some slight discrepancies.
Back tested against VPVR settings: Row Size 500, Value Area 70.
Maximum of 500 lines will only be shown.

Low Timeframe POCI have recently made a High Timeframe POC script (HFT POC) which is pretty popular. Thanks for this!
There are many requests to include lower timeframes in this script, that is why I created this script. I could have incorporated all the timeframe POC's into one indicator but I went this route to keep things more organized between all the different timeframes.
Currently included: Daily, 6H, 3H and 1H
/* DEFINITION */
Point Of Control (= POC) is a price level at which the heaviest volumes were traded.
/* HOW TO TRADE WITH THIS INDICATOR */
The basis for POC is determining bias on whichever timeframe you choose.
1. Identify a POC on the timeframe of your choosing.
/* If you choose the lowest timeframe (1H here) then always make sure to look at the higher timeframes to see how it is trading against a HTF POC.
2. When the price is moving away from the POC (either to the upside or downside) this can confirm or invalidate a trade.
3. You can now enter the trade on bias or wait for a retest of the same POC.
/* EXAMPLE TRADES /*
Here is a screenshot of some of the trades that are possible using these Low Timeframe POC's and some common sense.

High Timeframe POCBecause the big Bitcoin crash I have been looking a lot at high timeframe metrics. I never spent much time learning POC so I decided to create a little script for determining these on higher timeframes.
Currently included: Monthly, 3 months and 6 months.
/* DEFINITION */
Point Of Control (= POC) is a price level at which the heaviest volumes were traded.
Value Area High/Low (=VAH/VAL) is a range of prices where the majority of trading volume took place. Naturally, Value Area High being the top price level and Value Area Low being the lowest. POC always is between the two.
/* HOW TO TRADE WITH THIS INDICATOR */
The basis for POC is determining bias on whichever timeframe you choose.
1. Identify a POC on the timeframe of your choosing.
/* If you choose a "low" timeframe (monthly here) then make sure to look at the higher timeframes to see how it is playing against a higher timeframe POC.
2. When the price is moving away from the POC (either to the upside or downside) this will confirm or invalidate the trade.
3. You can now enter the trade on bias or wait for a retest of the same POC.
/* EXAMPLE TRADES /*
Here is a screenshot of some of the trades that are possible solely using the POC and some common sense.

Dynamic Point of Control (POC)The Dynamic Point of Control (POC) indicator provides traders and analysts with insightful information about price levels, volume distribution, and sentiment within a specified historical range.
Instant Updates : POC recalculates with every new bar, keeping you ahead of the game.
Market Bias : Assess market sentiment through bullish volume share.
Customization : Tailor inputs to match your unique trading strategy.
Chart Presence : See POC and related data graphically on your price chart.
How to Use :
Traders can use the Dynamic POC indicator to identify Point of Control price level, understand volume distribution, and gauge market sentiment. The indicator's visual cues and customizable parameters make it a valuable tool for technical analysis and decision-making.
Value Area POC/VAH/VALThis indicator is a Market Profiling tool used to analyse the Point of Control (POC) and Value Area (VAH/VAL) on the daily, weekly and monthly timeframes. It also optionally displays historical Value Areas to help find confluence with past data.
The Value Area is a range of prices where the majority of trading volume took place on the prior trading day. In specific, this area is the range where 70% of the prior day’s volume happened. The value area is approximately one standard deviation above and below the average highest volume price. With this knowledge, there are specific probabilities of market behavior we can understand to digest the value area. The value area gives us an idea of where the smart money is playing ball and where the institutions are guiding the market. From this data, we can derive intra-day strategies that capitalize on market behavior.
POC IndicatorThis simplified Point of Control (POC) indicator for TradingView is designed to identify and plot the price level where the highest volume of trading occurred over a specified period. The script works as follows:
Input and Initialization: The user specifies a length for the analysis period. Variables highestVolPrice and highestVol are initialized to track the price with the highest volume and the highest volume encountered, respectively.
Volume Analysis Loop: For each bar in the specified period (up to length bars back from the current bar), the script compares the volume of the current bar (volume ) to highestVol. If the current bar's volume is higher, highestVol and highestVolPrice are updated to reflect the volume and closing price of the current bar.
Plotting the POC: Instead of using a horizontal line (hline), which cannot be dynamically updated within the loop, the script uses plot to draw the POC. This plotting function draws a line on the chart that represents the closing price level associated with the highest volume observed within the analysis period.
Resetting Variables: To ensure the indicator updates correctly with each new bar, the script resets highestVol and highestVolPrice at the start of the analysis for each new period. This step is designed to recalculate the POC dynamically as new data comes in.
This approach offers a basic method for visualizing significant price levels where substantial trading activity occurred, potentially indicating areas of strong support or resistance. However, it's a simplified model and does not calculate the true POC based on a detailed volume profile across all price levels within the period.

- Dim Non Value Area Zones
- Custom Range with Highlighting
- 3 Anchor points for Volume Profile
- Flip Levels Horizontally
- Adjustable width, offset and spacing of levels
- Custom Color for POC/VA/VWAP levels, Transparency for buy/sell levels
WARNING:
- Compilation Time: 1 min 20 sec
Usage:
- specify max_level/min_level/spacing (required)
- select range (start_bar, range length), confirm with range highlighting
- select volume type: Buy/Sell/Total
- select mode Value Area/VWAP to show corresponding levels
- flip/select anchor point to position the buy/sell levels
- use Horiz Buy/Sell SLI mode with 100 or Vertical SLI with 300 levels if needed
- use POC/Developing POC/VA/VWAP High/Low as S/R levels. Usually daily values from 1-3 days back are used as levels for the current day.
SLI:
use SLI modes to extend the functionality of the indicator:
- Horiz Buy/Sell 2x SLI lets you view 100 Buy/Sell Levels at the same time
- Vertical Max_Vol 3x SLI lets you increase the resolution to 300 levels
- you need at least 2 instances of the indicator attached to the same chart for SLI to work
1) Enable Horiz SLI:
- attach 2 indicator instances to the chart
- make sure all instances have the same min_level/max_level/range/spacing settings
- select volume type for each instance: you can have a buy/sell or buy/total or sell/total SLI. Make sure your buy volume instance is the last attached to be displayed on top of sell/total instances without overlapping.
- set buy_sell_sli_mode to true for indicator instances with volume_type = buy/sell, for type total this is optional.
- this basically tells the script to calculate % lengths based on total volume instead of individual buy/sell volumes and use ext offset for sell levels
- Sell Offset is calculated relative to Buy Offset to stack/extend sell after buy. Buy Offset = Zero - Buy Length. Sell Offset = Buy Offset - Sell Length = Zero - Buy Length - Sell Length
- there are no master/slave instances in this mode, all indicators are equal, poc/va levels are not affected and can work independently, i.e. one instance can show va levels, another - vwap.
2) Enable Vertical SLI:
- attach the first instance and evaluate the full range to roughly determine where is the highest max_vol/poc level i.e. 0..20000, poc is in the bottom half (third, middle etc) or
- add more instances and split the full vertical range between them, i.e. set min_level/max_level of each corresponding instance to 0..10000, 10000..20000 etc
- make sure all instances have the same range/spacing settings
- an instance with a subrange containing the poc level of the full range is now your master instance (bottom half). All other instances are slaves, their levels will be calculated based on the max_vol/poc of the master instance instead of local values
- set show_max_vol_sli to true for the master instance. for slave instances this is optional and can be used to check if master/slave max_vol values match and slave can read the master's value. This simply plots the max_vol value
- you can also attach all instances and set show_max_vol_sli to true in all of them - the instance with the largest max_vol should become the master
Auto/Manual Ext Max_Vol Modes:
- for auto vertical max_vol SLI mode set max_vol_sli_src in all slave instances to the max_vol of the master indicator: "VolumeProfileFree_MAX_RRB: Max Volume for Vertical SLI Mode". It can be tricky with 2+ instances
- in case auto SLI mode doesn't work - assign max_vol_sli_ext in all slave instances the max_vol value of the master indicator manually and repeat on each change
- manual override max_vol_sli_ext has higher priority than auto max_vol_sli_src when both values are assigned, when they are 0 and close respectively - SLI is disabled
- master/slave max_vol values must match on each bar at all times to maintain proper level scale, otherwise slave's levels will look larger than they should relative to the master's levels.
- Max_vol (red) is the last param in the long list of indicator outputs
- the only true max_vol/poc in this SLI mode is the master's max_vol/poc. All poc/va levels in slaves will be irrelevant and are disabled automatically. Slaves can only show VWAP levels.
- VA Levels of the master instance in this SLI mode are calculated based on the subrange, not the whole range and may be inaccurate. Cross check with the full range.
WARNING!
- auto mode max_vol_sli_src is experimental and may not work as expected
- you can only assign auto mode max_vol_sli_src = max_vol once due to some bug with unhandled exception/buffer overflow in Tradingview. Seems that you can clear the value only by removing the indicator instance
- sometimes you may see a "study in error state" error when attempting to set it back to close. Remove indicator/Reload chart and start from scratch
- volume profile may not finish to redraw and freeze in an ugly shape after an UI parameter change when max_vol_sli_src is assigned a max_vol value. Assign it to close - VP should redraw properly, but it may not clear the assigned max_vol value
- you can't seem to be able to assign a proper auto max_vol value to the 3rd slave instance
- 2x Vertical SLI works and tested in both auto/manual, 3x SLI - only manual seems to work (you can have a mixed mode: 2nd instance - auto, 3rd - manual)
Notes:
- This code uses Pinescript v3 compatibility framework
- This code is 20x-30x faster (main for cycle is removed) especially on lower tfs with long history - only 4-5 sec load/redraw time vs 30-60 sec of the old Pro versions
- Instead of repeatedly calculating the total sum of volumes for the whole range on each bar, vol sums are now increased on each bar and passed to the next in the range making it a per range vs per bar calculation that reduces time dramatically
- 100 levels consist of 50 main plot levels and 50 line objects used as alternate levels, differences are:
- line objects are always shown on top of other objects, such as plot levels, zero line and side cover, it's not possible to cover/move them below.
- all line objects have variable lengths, use actual x,y coords and don't need side cover, while all plot levels have a fixed length of 100 bars, use offset and require cover.
- all key properties of line objects, such as x,y coords, color can be modified, objects can be moved/deleted, while this is not possible for static plot levels.
- large width values cause line objects to expand only up/down from center while their length remains the same and stays within the level's start/end points similar to an area style.
- large width values make plot levels expand in all directions (both h/v), beyond level start/end points, sometimes overlapping zero line, making them an inaccurate % length representation, as opposed to line objects/plot levels with area style.
- large width values translate into different widths on screen for line objects and plot levels.
- you can't compensate for this unwanted horiz width expansion of plot levels because width uses its own units, that don't translate into bars/pixels.
- line objects are visible only when num_levels > 50, plot levels are used otherwise
- Since line objects are lines, plot levels also use style line because other style implementations will break the symmetry/spacing between levels.
- if you don't see a volume profile check range settings: min_level/max_level and spacing, set spacing to 0 (or adjust accordingly based on the symbol's precision, i.e. 0.00001)
- you can view either of Buy/Sell/Total volumes, but you can't display Buy/Sell levels at the same time using a single instance (this would 2x reduce the number of levels). Use 2 indicator instances in horiz buy/sell sli mode for that.
- Volume Profile/Value Area are calculated for a given range and updated on each bar. Each level has a fixed length. Offsets control visible level parts. Side Cover hides the invisible parts.
- Custom Color for POC/VA/VWAP levels - UI Style color/transparency can only change shape's color and doesn't affect textcolor, hence this additional option
- Custom Width - UI Style supports only width <= 4, hence this additional option
- POC is visible in both modes. In VWAP mode Developing POC becomes VWAP, VA High and Low => VWAP High and Low correspondingly to minimize the number of plot outputs
- You can't change buy/sell level colors from input (only transparency) - this requires 2x plot outputs => 2x reduces the number of levels to fit the max 64 limit. That's why 2 additional plots are used to dim the non Value Area zones
- You can change level transparency of line objects. Due to Pinescript limitations, only discrete values are supported.
- Inverse transp correlation creates the necessary illusion of "covered" line objects, although they are shown on top of the cover all the time
- If custom lines_transp is set the illusion will break because transp range can't be skewed easily (i.e. transp 0..100 is always mapped to 100..0 and can't be mapped to 50..0)
- transparency can applied to lines dynamically but nva top zone can't be completely removed because plot/mixed type of levels are still used when num_levels < 50 and require cover
- transparency can't be applied to plot levels dynamically from script this can be done only once from UI, and you can't change plot color for the past length bars
- All buy/sell volume lengths are calculated as % of a fixed base width = 100 bars (100%). You can't set show_last from input to change it
- Range selection/Anchoring is not accurate on charts with time gaps since you can only anchor from a point in the future and measure distance in time periods, not actual bars, and there's no way of knowing the number of future gaps in advance.
- Adjust Width for Log Scale mode now also works on high precision charts with small prices (i.e. 0.00001)
- in Adjust Width for Log Scale mode Level1 width extremes can be capped using max deviation (when level1 = 0, shift = 0 width becomes infinite)
- There's no such thing as buy/sell volume, there's just volume, but for the purposes of the Volume Profile method, assume: bull candle = buy volume, bear candle = sell volume
P.S. I am your grandfather, Luke! Now, join the Dark Side in your father's steps or be destroyed! Once more the Sith will rule the Galaxy, and we shall have peace...

Volume Profile Free Pro (25 Levels Value Area VWAP) by RRBVolume Profile Free Pro by RagingRocketBull 2019
Version 1.0
All available Volume Profile Free Pro versions are listed below (They are very similar and I don't want to publish them as separate indicators):
ver 1.0: style columns implementation
ver 2.0: style histogram implementation
ver 3.0: style line implementation
This indicator calculates Volume Profile for a given range and shows it as a histogram consisting of 25 horizontal bars.
It can also show Point of Control (POC), Developing POC, Value Area/VWAP StdDev High/Low as dynamically moving levels.
Free accounts can't access Standard TradingView Volume Profile, hence this indicator.
There are 3 basic methods to calculate the Value Area for a session.
- original method developed by Steidlmayr (calculated around POC)
- classical method using StdDev (calculated around the mean VWAP)
- another method based on the mean absolute deviation (calculated around the median)
POC is a high volume node and can be used as support/resistance. But when far from the day's average price it may not be as good a trend filter as the other methods.
The 80% Rule: When the market opens above/below the Value Area and then returns/stays back inside for 2 consecutive 30min periods it has 80% chance of filling VA (like a gap).
There are several versions: Free, Free Pro, Free MAX. This is the Free Pro version. The Differences are listed below:
- Free: 30 levels, Buy/Sell/Total Volume Profile views, POC

- Side Cover
- Value Area, VAH/VAL dynamic levels
- VWAP High/Low dynamic levels with Source, Length, StdDev as params
- Show/Hide all levels
- Dim Non Value Area Zones
- Custom Range with Highlighting
- 3 Anchor points for Volume Profile
- Flip Levels Horizontally
- Adjustable width, offset and spacing of levels
- Custom Color for POC/VA/VWAP levels and Transparency for buy/sell levels
Usage:
- specify max_level/min_level for a range (required in ver 1.0/2.0, auto/optional in ver 3.0 = set to highest/lowest)
- select range (start_bar, range length), confirm with range highlighting
- select mode Value Area or VWAP to show corresponding levels.
- flip/select anchor point to position the buy/sell levels, adjust width and spacing as needed
- select Buy/Sell/Total/Side by Side view mode
- use POC/Developing POC/VA/VWAP High/Low as S/R levels. Usually daily values from 1-3 days back are used as levels for the current day.
- Green - buy volume of a specific price level in a range, Red - sell volume. Green + Red = Total volume of a price level in a range
There's no native support for vertical histograms in Pinescript (with price axis as base)
Basically, there are 4 ways to plot a series of horizontal bars stacked on top of each other:
1. plotshape style labeldown (ver 0 prototype discarded)
- you can have a set of fixed width/height text labels consisting of a series of underscores and moving dynamically as levels. Level offset controls visible length.
- you can move levels and scale the base width of the volume profile histogram dynamically
- you can calculate the highest/lowest range values automatically. max_level/min_level inputs are optional
- you can't fill the gaps between levels/adjust/extend width, height - this results in a half baked volume profile and looks ugly
- fixed text level height doesn't adjust and looks bad on a log scale
- fixed font width also doesn't scale and can't be properly aligned with bars when zooming
2. plot style columns + hist_base (ver 1.0)
- you can plot long horizontal bars using a series of small adjacent vertical columns with level offsets controlling visible length.
- you can't hide/move levels of the volume profile histogram dynamically on each bar, they must be plotted at all times regardless - you can't delete the history of a plot.
- you can't scale the base width of the volume profile histogram dynamically, can't set show_last from input, must use a preset fixed width for each level
- hist_base can only be a static const expression, can't be assigned highest/lowest range values automatically - you have to specify max_level/min_level manually from input
- you can't control spacing between columns - there's an equalizer bar effect when you zoom in, and solid bars when you zoom out
- using hist_base for levels results in ugly load/redraw times - give it 3-5 sec to finalize its shape after each UI param change
- level top can be properly aligned with another level's bottom producing a clean good looking histogram
- columns are properly aligned with bars automatically
3. plot style histogram + hist_base (ver 2.0)
- you can plot long horizontal bars using a series of small vertical bars (horizontal histogram) instead of columns.
- you can control the width of each histogram bar comprising a level (spacing/horiz density). Large enough width will cause bar overlapping and give level a "solid" look regardless of zoom
- you can only set width <= 4 in UI Style - custom textbox input is provided for larger values. You can set width and plot transparency from input
- this method still uses hist_base and inherits other limitations of ver 2.0
4. plot style lines (ver 3.0)
- you can also plot long horizontal bars using lines with level offsets controlling visible length.
- lines don't need hist_base - fast and smooth redraw times
- you can calculate the highest/lowest range values automatically. max_level/min_level inputs are optional
- level top can't be properly aligned with another level's bottom and have a proper spacing because line width uses its own units and doesn't scale
- fixed line width of a level (vertical thickness) doesn't scale and looks bad on log (level overlapping)
- you can only set width <= 4 in UI Style, a custom textbox input is provided for larger values. You can set width and plot transparency from input
Notes:
- hist_base for levels results in ugly load/redraw times - give it 3-5 sec to finalize its shape after each UI param change
- indicator is slow on TFs with long history 10000+ bars
- Volume Profile/Value Area are calculated for a given range and updated on each bar. Each level has a fixed width. Offsets control visible level parts. Side Cover hides the invisible parts.
- Custom Color for POC/VA/VWAP levels - UI Style color/transparency can only change shape's color and doesn't affect textcolor, hence this additional option
- Custom Widh for levels - UI Style supports only width <= 4, hence this additional option
- POC is visible in both modes. In VWAP mode Developing POC becomes VWAP, VA High and Low => VWAP High and Low correspondingly to minimize the number of plot outputs
- You can't change buy/sell level colors (only plot transparency) - this requires 2x plot outputs exceeding max 64 limit. That's why 2 additional plots are used to dim the non Value Area zones
- Use Side by Side view to compare buy and sell volumes between each other: base width = max(total_buy_vol, total_sell_vol)
- All buy/sell volume lengths are calculated as % of a fixed base width = 100 bars (100%). You can't set show_last from input
- Sell Offset is calculated relative to Buy Offset to stack/extend sell on top of buy. Buy Offset = Zero - Buy Length. Sell Offset = Buy Offset - Sell Length = Zero - Buy Length - Sell Length
- If you see "loop too long error" - change some values in UI and it will recalculate - no need to refresh the chart
- There's no such thing as buy/sell volume, there's just volume, but for the purposes of the Volume Profile method, assume: bull candle = buy volume, bear candle = sell volume
- Volume Profile Range is limited to 5000 bars for free accounts

Swing Volume Profiles [LuxAlgo]The Swing Volume Profiles indicator aims to calculate and highlight trading activity at specific price levels between two swing points; allowing traders to reveal dominant and/or significant price levels based on volume.
By measuring traded volume at all price levels in the market over a specified time period, the script can also be used to detect some key analysis generally such as supply & demand, buy-side & sell-side liquidity levels, unfilled liquidity voids, and imbalances that can highlight on the chart.
🔶 USAGE
A volume profile is an advanced charting tool that displays the traded volume at different price levels over a specific period. It helps you visualize where the majority of trading activity has occurred.
Key Levels are the areas where the volume is concentrated or where there are significant volume spikes. These levels are known as key support and resistance levels. High-volume nodes indicate areas of high activity and are likely to act as support or resistance in the future.
Volume profile also helps identify value areas, which represent the price levels where the most trading activity has taken place. These levels can act as areas of support or resistance as traders perceive them as fair value.
The Point of Control describes the price level where the most volume was traded. A Naked Point of Control (also called a Virgin Point of Control) is a previous POC that has not been traded. Extending PoC options 'Until Bar Cross' or 'Until Bar Touch' helps in identifying Naked Point of Control Lines.
Previous PoC levels can serve as support and resistance for future price movements. Extending PoC Level 'Until Last Bar' option will help to identify such levels.
🔶 DETAILS
One of the unique features of the script is its ability to detect some other key levels such as levels of acceptance and rejection.
Levels of rejection we may summarize as supply and demand levels, these are also referred to as buy-side and sell-side liquidity levels. They usually occur at extreme highs or lows, where prices may be too high for buyers (high supply, low demand) or too low for sellers (low supply, high demand)
Levels of acceptance are the levels where Liquidity Voids occur, these are also referred to imbalances. Liquidity voids are sudden changes in price when the price jumps from one level to another. The peculiar thing about liquidity voids is that they almost always fill up, so we call them levels of acceptance.
🔶 ALERTS
When an alert is configured, the user will have the ability to be notified in case:
Point Of Control Line is touched/crossed
Value Area High Line is touched/crossed
Value Area Low Line is touched/crossed

Gradient: Allows to color the volume profile bars with a gradient, with a color intensity determined by the length of each bar
Rows Solid Color: Color of each bar when 'Gradient' is disabled
POC Solid Color: Color of the POC when 'Gradient' is disabled
Usage
It is very common to display volume over time in order to visualize the trading activity made over a specific candle, however this is not the only way to display volume and it can be interesting to put it in relation with the price, which is what volume profiles do.
Volume profiles are displayed as price relative histograms showing the accumulated volume within certain price areas, the number of areas are determined by the row size of the volume profile. Knowing which price's area accumulated the most volume allow highlighting areas of interest to market participants.
Most accumulated volume will be encountered in zones of equilibrium between buyers and sellers; that is zones of local price stationarity. These zones are highlighted by high volume nodes in the volume profile. Imbalance between buyers and sellers are highlighted by thinner zones of the volume profile.
The price level with the most accumulated volume is highlighted by the "point of control" (POC), displayed by the dotted line in the indicator.
The POC is often considered an important level, commonly used as support/resistance by traders. One can verify the accuracy of this use case by using the rolling POC (assuming one would use the POC over time as SR).
Indicator Limitations
Volume profiles are calculated using tick data, which is not the case of this estimate, as such you won't have an accurate representation of an actual volume profile.
The rolling POC can introduce time outs in the script computation, use lower lookback and row size value to display it.
Point of Control V2 The genesis of this project was to create a POC library that would be available to deliver volume profile information via pine to other scripts of indicators and strategies.
This is a republish of an invite only script to open access
This is the indicator version of the library function.
A few points of significance:
- Allows the choice of reset of the study period, day/week or bars. This is simple enough to expand to other conditions
- Bar count resets starting from the beginning of the data set (bar index =0) vs bars back from the end of the data set
- A 'period' in this context is the time between resets - the start of the POC (eg. start of Day or Week) until it resets (for example at the beginning of a next day or week)
- Automates the determination of the increment level rather than the user specifying ticks or price brackets
- Does not allow for setting the # of rows and then calculating the implied price increment levels
- When a period is complete it is often useful to look back at the POCs of historical periods, or extend them forward.
- This script will find the historical POCs around the current price and display them rather than extend all the historical POC lines to the right
- This script also looks across all the period POCs and identifies the master POC or what I call the Grand POC, and also the next 3 runner up POCs
This indicator is also available as a library.

Oscillator Profile IndicatorDescription:
The Oscillator Profile Indicator (OPI) is designed to provide insights into market trends and potential reversal points by profiling the value distribution of an oscillator or the price chart over a specified lookback period.
The OPI works by calculating the Point of Control (PoC) for the oscillator values or prices in the given lookback period. This PoC, essentially a median, is considered the fair value where most trading activities have happened. Along with this, OPI also calculates lower and upper boundaries by taking the specified percentile of the sorted distribution of values. These boundaries outline the value area within which a significant portion of trading activity has occurred.
The main feature of the OPI is the interpretation of PoC movement and how it relates to general market trends. If the PoC moves above 0 on the oscillator, it's a potential indication that we are in a general uptrend. Conversely, if the PoC moves below 0, this can be a signal for a general downtrend.
Usage:
While OPI can be used on both price charts and oscillators, its effectiveness is more pronounced when used on oscillators. Applying this indicator to oscillators such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) or the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) can provide useful insights.
How to Read:
PoC line: The line represents the median of the past 'n' periods. Its movement above or below 0 can be used to identify general uptrends or downtrends respectively.
Upper and Lower Boundary lines: These lines represent the specified percentile of the value distribution in the lookback period.
Colored Fills: The fills between the upper and lower boundary lines visually represent the value area. The color changes based on the relative position of the source value (price or oscillator value) to the PoC.
Signals:
An uptrend is indicated when the PoC moves above 0 on the oscillator, especially when coupled with an upward crossover of the source value through the PoC.
A downtrend is signaled when the PoC drops below 0 on the oscillator, particularly when paired with a downward crossover of the source value through the PoC.
(!) Note: Like all indicators, OPI should be used in conjunction with other technical analysis tools for the best results. It is also advisable to backtest this indicator with your strategy before using it in live trading.
Volume Profile [Makit0]VOLUME PROFILE INDICATOR v0.5 beta
Volume Profile is suitable for day and swing trading on stock and futures markets, is a volume based indicator that gives you 6 key values for each session: POC, VAH, VAL, profile HIGH, LOW and MID levels. This project was born on the idea of plotting the RTH sessions Value Areas for /ES in an automated way, but you can select between 3 different sessions: RTH, GLOBEX and FULL sessions.
Some basic concepts:
- Volume Profile calculates the total volume for the session at each price level and give us market generated information about what price and range of prices are the most traded (where the value is)
- Value Area (VA): range of prices where 70% of the session volume is traded
- Value Area High (VAH): highest price within VA
- Value Area Low (VAL): lowest price within VA
- Point of Control (POC): the most traded price of the session (with the most volume)
- Session HIGH, LOW and MID levels are also important
There are a huge amount of things to know of Market Profile and Auction Theory like types of days, types of openings, relationships between value areas and openings... for those interested Jim Dalton's work is the way to come
I'm in my 2nd trading year and my goal for this year is learning to daytrade the futures markets thru the lens of Market Profile

Bearish signal using Point of Control (POC) with PAC by guruThis indicator code helps traders identify potential sell opportunities using several important technical indicators:
Point of Control (POC) – This is the price level where the most volume was traded over the past several days.
Previous Day's Low – This shows the lowest price reached during the previous day.
PAC (Price Action Channel) EMA – These are two moving averages (one based on the low price and one based on the close price) that help determine if the price is trending within a certain range.
Volume SMA – This is a 3-day simple moving average (SMA) of volume, which helps filter out signals based on market activity.
What the Script Does:
Point of Control (POC):
The script looks at the last 50 days (configurable) and calculates which price level had the highest trading volume.
It then plots a red line on the chart at the POC level. This is important because it helps identify areas where there was strong market interest in the past.
Volume Moving Average:
The script calculates a 3-day SMA of volume, but it excludes the current day to avoid premature signals based on today’s trading.
The volume SMA is used to ensure there’s enough market activity (with a threshold set to 25 units) before triggering a sell signal.
Price Action Channel (PAC) EMA:
The PAC consists of two exponential moving averages (EMAs):
The PAC Low EMA: This is based on the low prices over the last 34 periods (configurable).
The PAC Close EMA: This is based on the closing prices over the last 34 periods.
These EMAs help determine if the price is trending above or below certain price levels.
Sell Signal Logic: The script checks three conditions before displaying a "Sell" signal:
Price Below POC and Previous Day’s Low:
The close price must be below both the Point of Control (POC) and the previous day's low.
Volume SMA Above 25:
The 3-day volume SMA must be greater than 25. This ensures the signal only triggers when there’s enough trading volume in the market.
Today’s Low is Above PAC EMAs:
Today's low price must be above both the PAC low EMA and the PAC close EMA. This prevents sell signals when prices are already significantly below the PAC, indicating possible exhaustion in the downtrend.
If all three conditions are met, the script will display a red "Sell" label on the chart, signaling a potential selling opportunity.
No Sell Signal if Price Reverses:
If the price crosses back above the POC or the previous day's low, the script will remove the sell signal and reset for a new opportunity.
Summary of Conditions:
For the script to display a "Sell" label:
The close price must be below the Point of Control (POC) and the previous day’s low.
The 3-day volume SMA (excluding today) must be greater than 25 units.
The low price of the current day must be above both the PAC low EMA and the PAC close EMA.
If these conditions are met, a red sell label appears on the chart as a potential signal for a short (sell) trade.

🛠️ How It Works:
The Rolling POC indicator dynamically calculates the Point of Control either based on volume or price within a user-defined lookback period. It plots a histogram (profile) that highlights the level at which the most trading activity has occurred, helping to identify key support and resistance levels.
Basic Logic Overview:
- Data Compilation: Gathers high, low, and volume (if volume profile selected) data within the lookback period.
- Histogram Calculation: Divides the price range into bins (as specified by resolution), counting hits in each bin to find the most frequented price level.
- POC Identification: The price level with the highest concentration of hits (or volume) is marked as the POC.
- Trend MA (Optional): If enabled, the indicator plots a moving average of the POC for trend analysis.
By integrating the Rolling Point of Control into your charting toolkit, you can significantly enhance your market analysis and potentially increase the accuracy of your trading decisions. Whether you're day trading or looking at longer time frames, this indicator offers a detailed, customizable perspective on market dynamics. 🌍💹
ATR Price Targets w/POC
ATR Price Targets with Point of Control (POC):
This script is designed to help traders identify key price target levels based on configurable multipliers of the the Average True Range (ATR) and the volume based Point of Control (POC). It is intended for intraday traders looking to capture significant price movements.
Features:
ATR Price Targets: The script calculates three levels of price targets above and below the first bar of the day, based on the ATR of the last 22 days (assuming 5-minute candles). These targets are adjustable through the settings, allowing traders to set their own ATR multipliers.
Point of Control (POC): The POC is determined as the price level of the highest volume bar since the start time, providing an indication of the most traded price within the specified period.
Customizable Start Time: Traders can set their desired start time for the calculation of price targets and POC, allowing for flexibility in aligning the indicator with their trading strategy.
Plot Lines: The ATR price targets are plotted as lines for easy visualization on the chart.
Usage:
The ATR price targets can be used as potential take-profit or stop-loss levels.
The POC can serve as a key level for assessing market sentiment and potential reversals.
Traders can adjust the ATR multipliers and start time based on their specific trading style and market conditions.
Settings:
ATR Price Targets 1, 2, 3: Adjust the multipliers for the ATR price targets. By default, these are set to 1*ATR for T1+/T1-, 3*ATR for T2+/T2- and ATR*6 for T3+/T3-. Adjust with caution as the price targets found in defaults have proven to be more accurate over intraday cycles for volatile stocks.
Start Hour & Start Minute: Set the starting hour and minute for the calculations. By default, these are set to the opening 5 minute intraday bar, but can also be set to the opening bar of pre-market hours.
Volume Footprint Voids [BigBeluga]Volume Footprint Voids is a unique tool that uses lower timeframe calculation to plot different styles of single candle POC.
This indicator is very powerful for scalping and finding very precise entry and exits, spotting potential trapped traders, and more.
Unlike many other volume profiles, this aims to plot single candle profiles as well as their own footprints.
🔶 FEATURES
The script includes the following settings:
Windows: Plotting style and calculations
Coloring modes
Display modes
lower-timeframe calculations
🔶 CALCULATION
In the image above we can see how the script calculates each level position that will serve as a calculation process to see how much volume/closes there are within the levels.
In the image above, we can have a more clear example of how we count each candle close.
We use the prior screenshot as an example, after setting each level we will use the lower-timeframe input to measure the amount of closes within the ranges.
Depending on the lot size, the box will be larger or smaller, usually the POC will always have the highest box size.
NOTE: Size is the starting point, always from the low of the candle.
To find more voids, select a closer LTF to the current one you're using.
To find fewer voids, select a timeframe away from your current one.
Due to Pine Script limitations, we are only able to plot a certain amount of footprints, and we can't plot the whole history chart.
POC will be the largest block displayed, indicating the time point of control
Gray areas are closes above the average
Black are Void or imbalance that price will fill in the future, like FVG
The image above shows an incorrect size input that will lead to bad calculations, while on the other side, a correct size input that will lead to a clear vision and better calculation.
🔶 WINDOWS
The "▲▼" Mode will display delta buyers and delta sellers coloring with voids as black.
It also offers a gradient mode for a beautier visualization
The "Total Volume" mode will display the net volume within the lot size (closes within the levels).
This is useful to spot possible highest net volume within the same highest lot size.
The "POC + Gaps" will show both POC and Gaps as the highest block while all the rest will be considered as the smaller block.
This is useful to see where the highest lot were and if there are higher or lower imbalances within the candle
The last option "Gaps" will simply display the gaps as the highest block, while the POC as the lowest block.
This is useful to have a better view of the gaps areas
🔶 EXAMPLE
This is one of the most basic examples of how this script can be used. POC at the bottom creating a strong support area as price holds and creates higher voids gap that price fills while rising.
🔶 SETTINGS
Users have full control over the script, from colors to choosing the lower-timeframe inputs to disabling the lot size.

Features of the new Weighted Volume Profile indicator :
Renders Volume Profile Of Current Ticker
Adjustable Weighthing Towards Past or Recent
Customizable Row Count & Maximum Distance
Left or Right Alignment
More Styling Options
🚩UNIQUENESS
This indicator differs from a normal volume profile indicator by it's ability to weight volumes based on their distance to the current time. Giving weight to volumes may offer new trading opportunities to traders as they can now see the most recent Point Of Control (POC) or a more powerful but past POC based on their choice. The indicator also has a variety of useful styling settings such as aligning the volume profile to the right or the left of the chart, POC Line styling and color settings for bullish & bearish volumes.
📌 HOW DOES IT WORK ?
A volume profile provides an in-depth look at trading activity over a period of time by plotting a histogram on the price axis. This indicator can also give weight to volumes based on their distance to the current time, essentially determining their importance for the profile. Here is how it works step-by-step :
1. Determine how much candlesticks the volume profile will cover (Analyze Bars setting)
2. Make a range from the highest point of chart to the lowest point of chart, then divide it into rows (Row Count setting)
3. For each candlestick, add it's volume to the corresponding row in the range. Note that the volume can be added into several rows if it overlaps with them.
4. If the candlestick is a bullish candlestick, we add it's volume into the bullish volume of the row, if it's a bearish candlestick, we add it to the bearish volume of the row.
With the weighted volume mode, which is activated if "Volume Weighthing" setting is set to "Recent" or "Past", all volumes get a penalty based on their distance to the latest candletstick. For example, if the setting is set to "Recent", the latest candlestick contributes it's volume by 100% to the corresponding row, but the candlestick which is 50 candlesticks far from the current candlestick only contributes it's volume by ~17% to the row. The same applies to the "Past" setting, but in the reversed order, where past candlesticks have more priority than the current ones.
Volume contribution percent for "Recent" setting : ((100 * 0.85) / (i + 1)) + (100 * (1.0 - 0.85))
Volume contribution percent for "Past" setting : ((100 * 0.85) * ((i + 1) / N)) + (100 * (1.0 - 0.85))
Where i = candlestick index from right to left, N = total number of candlesticks analyzed by the volume profile.
The Point Of Control (POC) line is drawn from the row with the most total volume, and is generally considered as a strong level because a lot of trading volume happened on that particular row. Traders may use this line as a support & resistance level.
Traders can use this indicator to have an insight of areas which price moves quickly without much volume, or see areas that holds the price still for much longer and plan their trades accordingly.

Price Range Volume Profile [Pt]█ Introduction
The Price Range Volume Profile (PRVP) is a revolutionary indicator. This tool stands out from its peers due to its unique ability to capture the entire price chart history, thus providing a comprehensive volume profile of the entire asset's trading history, as available on TradingView chart. It's worth noting that I believe this tool is the first of its kind to accomplish such a feat. A much recommended tool if you are a volume profile trader.
█ Main Features
► Historical Lookback: This feature dives deep into the past, grasping all the historical data of an asset. It's equipped to handle up to 20,000 bars, although users without a premium TradingView account are advised to keep it at a maximum of 10,000 bars, or just use the "Full Historical Lookback" feature.
► Volume Profile / POC: Displays the distribution of volume across price levels for the selected price range. The Point of Control (POC), which is the price level with the highest traded volume, is also highlighted.
► Customization: Users have the flexibility to adjust the profile's appearance, including profile width, horizontal offset, and the option to fill the background of the profile range.
► Time Weighting: This feature allows users to give more weight to recent trading activity, which can be especially useful for intraday traders or during times of high volatility. Note that this feature will impact the volume profile and POC level.
► Settings Table: A settings table is displayed on the chart for users to quickly reference their input parameters.
█ Input Parameters
► Lookback Timeframe: Determines the period for which the volume profile is generated.
► Price Range: The percentage distance to consider for the profile, adjusted above and below the current closing price.
► Profile Step size: The granularity of the volume profile. Users can opt for automatic step size based on a predefined calculation or set their preferred tick step size.
► Historical Bars Lookback: Determines the number of bars to include in the volume profile calculation.
► Profile Visuals: Adjust the appearance and layout of the volume profile on the chart.
► Extra: Additional settings including the display of a settings table and its location.
█ Basic Understanding of Volume Profile - How to use PRVP?
Volume Profile is a valuable tool for traders who want insights into where the majority of trading activity has occurred. Here are some tips to make the most of it:
► Understand the Basics: Before using the Volume Profile, ensure you understand the difference between it and the standard volume histogram. While both represent volume, the former displays it against price while the latter shows it against time.
► Identify High Volume Nodes (HVN) and Low Volume Nodes (LVN):
◊ HVN: Areas where there's a lot of trading activity and where the price has spent a lot of time. These areas can act as strong support or resistance.
◊ LVN: Areas where there's a lack of trading activity. Prices might move quickly through these areas, and they can act as potential breakpoints or accelerators for price movement.
► Locate the Point of Control (POC): This is the price level with the highest traded volume for a specified period. It often acts as a magnet for price, and it can serve as a pivot or reference point.
► Trend Confirmation: A shift in the volume profile from one price level to another can confirm a trend. For instance, if higher volume starts to build at higher price levels, it may indicate a strong uptrend.
► Watch for Volume Gaps: If there's a significant gap in the volume profile, prices may move quickly through these levels as there's little historical trading activity to act as support or resistance.
█ Other Usage Tips
◊ For optimal performance, ensure that the chosen timeframe aligns closely with the chart timeframe. Differences in timeframes may lead to minor discrepancies in the volume profile.
◊ To address any errors arising from too many levels displayed on the volume profile, consider increasing the Profile Step size or reducing the Price Range.
