Core logic

The KST indicator is calculated as a weighted sum of several smoothed rate-of-change (ROC) values, each representing a different momentum horizon.

Key principles:

* multiple ROC components capture momentum across timeframes
* each ROC is smoothed using a simple moving average
* longer-term momentum components receive higher weight
* the combined value reflects overall trend momentum
* a signal line smooths the KST for confirmation
* values oscillate around a zero baseline

Crossovers between the KST and its signal line often indicate shifts in dominant market momentum.

Visualization

The script plots:

* the KST line in a separate indicator pane
* a smoothed signal line for confirmation
* a zero reference line for directional context
* individually configurable colors for both lines

This dual-line setup provides a clear and structured view of multi-timeframe momentum.

Use case

This indicator is intended for:

* identifying primary trend momentum
* confirming long-term trend direction
* detecting early trend transitions
* filtering trades in alignment with macro momentum
* supporting swing trading and position-based strategies

It is most effective on higher timeframes and when combined with price structure or AI-assisted chart analysis.
