stelaraX – Cumulative RSI

stelaraX – Cumulative RSI is a mean-reversion momentum indicator designed to amplify short-term RSI extremes by summing multiple consecutive RSI values. By accumulating RSI over a defined number of bars, it highlights sustained overbought or oversold pressure rather than isolated single-bar extremes.

Core logic

The script calculates a short-period RSI and then sums the RSI values over a configurable number of bars. This cumulative value is compared against predefined entry and exit thresholds to identify stretched momentum conditions.

Key principles:

* a short RSI period increases sensitivity to recent momentum
* cumulative RSI equals the sum of RSI values over the selected window
* low cumulative values indicate sustained oversold pressure
* high cumulative values indicate sustained overbought pressure
* long entry triggers when cumulative RSI falls below the entry threshold
* short entry triggers when cumulative RSI exceeds the mirrored threshold
* exit levels help define potential profit-taking zones

This structure emphasizes multi-bar momentum exhaustion rather than single-candle signals.

Visualization

The script plots:

* the cumulative RSI line in a separate indicator pane
* dashed horizontal lines for long entry, long exit, and short entry thresholds
* a midline reference for balance context
* background highlighting when long or short entry zones are active
* alert conditions for new long and short entry triggers

This provides a clean framework for spotting extended momentum conditions and potential reversal setups.

Use case

This indicator is intended for:

* identifying short-term mean-reversion opportunities
* spotting sustained overbought or oversold streaks
* timing pullback entries within broader trends
* filtering trades by requiring multi-bar momentum confirmation
* supporting quantitative and AI-assisted chart evaluation strategies

It works best in ranging or pullback conditions and should be combined with higher-timeframe trend context for improved signal quality.
