In Mumbai, the SENSEX Index dropped 668 points or 0.82 percent on Friday.
Losses were led by Indusind Bank (-3.89%), Mahindra & Mahindra (-3.68%) and Ltimindtree Ltd (-3.20%).
Offsetting the fall, top gainers were Larsen & Toubro (2.71%), ITC (1.22%) and Reliance Industries (0.48%).
