The oscillator version of the well known On Balance Volume Indicator (OBV).
Plain old OBV can be used to confirm trends, as well as spot possible trading signals due to divergences.
A benefit of the oscillator version is that it can produce LONG or SHORT signals on zero line cross.
This indicator shows an hystogram with the Chainkin Oscilator values, with color changes in function of the direction (up/down) . Also show the 0 crossovers, up and down.
Chaikin Oscillator gets its name from its creator, Marc Chaikin.
The Chaikin Indicator applies MACD to the accumulation-distribution line rather than closing price.
For me it's very usefull...
Based on LazyBear 8MA I decided to do something similar for my personal use. I created an "Alligator" which works with 4 EMA lines and without "future" prediction, it will show you the most recent trend only, creating a later call than the original alligator yet a more precise one. Then there are the 3 MA with huge periods, including 30,50,100. This allows the...
This is a LAGGING indicator which can provide a good indication of trend. It require a certain (configurable) number of candles to have closed before it can determine whether a pivot has formed.
It provides a 20 period SMA for the timeframe of your choice which is color coded to show the trend according to confirmed pivots.
Long / Short...
I was reading Jesse Stine's Insider Buy Superstocks book, and one of the technical traits he mentioned of a superstock (read the book, seriously, very strongly recommended) was a breakout above the 30 weekly moving average. He goes on to mention that after breakout, the 10 WMA often acts as a support line where you can add to your position. This script is inspired...
This is an indicator I created recently, with the mind of spotting where price might reverse and where the price is trending. You can see this as the primary indicator for your system, however, it is recommended you use this in conjunction with other confirmation indicators.
This script focus solely on ATR or Average True Range.
This indicator is the...
The End Point Moving Average was created by Patrick E. Lafferty (Stocks & Commodities V13 (413-417)) and it is essentially a variation of the weighted moving average but the weight system is different. Feel free to change the offset and length amounts to adjust to your needs but I'm using the default amounts in my script. This hugs the price very closely and I...
If you are looking to discover what trend you are in, you need to first what direction the price is going in...
I've been using and testing a mixture of EMA's and SMA's for a long time and I've found that these ones are by far the best.
EMA 3 & 8 Crossover is a good method for confirming a coin going to the upside or to...
Another Adaptive Filter
This indicator share the same structure as a classic adaptive filter using an exponential window with a smoothing constant.
However the smoothing constant used is different than any previously made (Kalman Gain, Efficiency ratio, Scaled Fractal Dimension Index) ,
here the smoothing constant is inspired by the different formulations for...
This is a custom indicator of mine that I based loosely on Tushar S. Chande's Market Thrust Indicator (Stocks & Commodities V. 10:8 (347-350)). Buy the stock if the indicator is green and sell when it turns red.
Let me know if you would like to see more scripts or if you have custom requests!
The Up/Down Range breaks the price range into an upward and a downward moving component, so we can easily turn it into a momentum oscillator. This script does just that.
You can find the Up/Down Range (UDR) indicator here:
This indicator creates an trend channel based on an EMA/SMA combo and a Parabolc SAR indicator.
Watch for the peaks and the size of the red/green channel for possible trend change.
Can also be used as an Entry/Exit/Stop-Loss setting tool.
The indicator paints the bar colours based on the average open and average close for past N days.
if average close is above average open, the bars are coloured green, otherwise they are coloured red
It can be used as a general trend filter on weekly, daily bars. even on intraday timeframes, this would work well and give a sense of the current trend direction.
You can have 3 Moving Averages (customizable) using only one indicator! With them, you can know the general trend, immediate trend and the standard. You can try to operate using the crosses of this Moving Averages.
