Great script - is it possible to set up separate alerts for entry and exit signals so I can send them individually to a trading bot?

@davedesigns, Thanks. Of course you can. I have a script in my profile "Simple strategy indicator" which you can use for your trading bot as you wish :)

@x001tk, how has the simple strategy indicator been performing?

@x001tk, I am trying to use this script for my bots, but it is triggering the alert for each buy/sell long/short for every single bar close.
Is it because the condition is true and the script runs for each bar?
I don't want it to send a message for each bar right?
any suggestions?

@laughs, Got the same issue. Triggering alert on each bar close. Looks like getting no help on this :)

@davedesigns, I am just thinking of developing a trading bot . Please let me know if any trading bots available that saves my time.

in line 56 is that a mistake strategy.close("long", .... should it be short? is long means buy and short means sell? what is the meaning of long+1 or long-1 in the chart?

Its performance is 0.47% profit at best....

@burgercrisis, wrong, the figure given here is on a too short timescale. I ran it on the last 6 months of bull market in BTC, the return is ~30%. Over the last 3 years since 2018, the return gets down to 10%. Over the whole history of BTC, the return is -2%. When you take a look at what decisions this strategy does, sometimes it doesn't make much sense (eg, selling at the bottom after the march 2020 crash due to the pandemic), so there are areas that can certainly be improved.

@tartigradia, what do you have your candle duration set too when back testing this script? I have been back testing this strategy for the last few hours and I am seeing anywhere from 550% up to 4800%. Also are you using Heikin Ashi candles? If not, you should be. Run the back test using 1 hr candles and tell me this strategy does perform.
