☛U.S stocks slips after the Hawkish Fed Minutes and Recession Fears.
➤U.S stocks lurched lower for a second straight session with Dow -0.42%, S&P 500 -0.97% and Nasdaq -2.22% after the Fed minutes sharpened investors' focus on a more aggressive tightening path. Fed signaled for faster pace interest rate hikes and plan to reduce the balance sheet by $95 billion a month. VIX (Fear index) jumped to 22 with intraday' s high hit near 25.
☛On the technical front for S&P 500
-Price rejected 4536, the resistance level of the "left shoulder".
-levels to watch: 4464, cloud support. A push below may set the stage for a decline to test the next major support near 4300 "neckline" as is near the adage "sell in May and go away".
➤The US dollar index continued to climb higher for a fifth consecutive session to 99.62 with higher 10-year treasury yields at 2.6% after the FOMC minutes.
➤EUR continued the downward trend to below 1.09, near the 52-week low. GBP was flat at 1.3068. AUD fell to 0.7510 amid the risk-off mood.
➤Gold was little changed, hovering near to Fibonacci 38.2% level ($1920) in a bigger context.
➤Oil (Brent) slid to $101.68 (-3.6%) as the International Energy Agency said it will release up to 120 million barrels of emergency oil reserves.
➤BTC, ETH & XRP tumbled with BTC -5.3%, ETH -7.3% & XRP -6.9% amid the risk-off mood.
